Waste solutions:

Building inclusive recycling systems

MyPlas is a Cape Town-based plastic recycling company that works across the value chain to recover, process and reintroduce plastic waste into the economy. The company partners with schools, community organisations and industry bodies to strengthen local recycling systems, from collection and sorting through to processing. Through initiatives such as school-based recycling hubs and collaborations with organisations like Polyco and JOB-ABLED, MyPlas supports skills development and creates pathways into employment, particularly for young people and persons with disabilities. By linking community-level collection to end-market demand, MyPlas contributes to reducing plastic waste while building more inclusive and locally rooted recycling economies.
